2025 Helena Rotary Hoops

Helena Rotary's annual basketball tournament is set to take place on Sunday October 26, 2025 at Capital High School in Helena.  Save the Date!
 
 
 
4 Game minimum
 
First games start at 8:00 a.m.
 
All games will be held at Capital High School, 100 Valley Dr, Helena MT
Optional $10/player/contest for skills contests
 
Please complete the registration form and bring your signed Liability Waivers the day of the tournament.  You will have the option of paying online with a credit card, or you can mail payment to:

Rotary Tie is Presented to Club President, Mike Talia

Helena Rotary Club Member, Jane Amdahl attended the International Conference in June in Calgary Canada. She shared a bit of her experience with the club and presented Club President, Mike Talia with a Rotary tie that displays all the flags from countries that have Rotary Clubs. Mike promises to wear it proudly!

SponCon (Spontaneous Construction) is a brand new event as a joint fundraiser for Helena Area Habitat for Humanity and the Rotary Club of Helena. Rollie Graham Dedication

On July 31, 2024 we dedicated the Ambrose ADA Trail on Mount Helena in memory of Rollie Graham, a former member of the Rotary Club of Helena. His daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were present to help us dedicate the sign and the trail. This trail was a project of the Rotary Club of Helena in 2021 to provide an accessible trail for all on Mount Helena. The white portion in the middle of the sign is a Braille translation for our visually impaired community. We hope you can experience the trail yourself, whether walking, pushing a wheelchair or stroller, or even XC skiing in the winter!

Carroll College Visit

On Wednesday, October 24th, the Rotary Club of Helena will be visiting Carroll College for lunch in the PE Center and then on to a tour of the Hunthausen Activity Center. We meet at noon at the PE Center on Benton Ave, 
 
We will return to the Green Meadow Country Club on Wednesday October 31st.

The Gold Rush Gala - Helena Rotary's 100 Year Anniversary Celebration

Come celebrate the Rotary Club of Helena's 100th anniversary!  The celebration will take place on June 16, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Great Northern Hotel in Helena.  Tickets are $35.00 per plate.  Please register and buy your tickets online here.

Danielle Godlevsky - Foster Grandparent Program

Danielle Godlevsky is the Program Coordinator of the Foster Grandparent Program run through the Rocky Mountain Development Council.  The program pairs seniors aged 55 and up with preschools, elementary schools, Head Start classrooms, and other educational settings for children.  Foster Grandparents in the program provide academic support and guidance to children in Helena and around the state.  Qualifying volunteers also receive a stipend for their time.

Rotary District Governor Joe McBride

We had the privilege of hosting our District Governor Joe McBride on January 24.  Joe is a Butte native who returned to his hometown six years ago after living in the Midwest for about 25 years.  
 
Joe has a passion for Rotary.  He and his wife Libby have hosted three foreign exchange students in their home--Agnes from Indonesia, Priya from India, and Chris from South Africa.  He has previously served as International Chair, Club President and Assistant Governor.  
 
Joe explained his goals for his year as District Governor, including strengthening RYLA, Interact and Roteract, and a new program called STRIVE--a mentoring program for students who have faced academic challenges.  
 
After addressing the club, Joe joined Helena Rotary in their Fourth Wednesday event, packing "birthday bags" for Helena Food Share.

Rotarian Greg Upham, the Assistant Superintendent of Helena Public Schools, gave the club a presentation on January 3 regarding the plans for rebuilding Central School and updating other elementary schools as a result of the recent levy.

Kris Goss - Montana Volunteers

The Montana Volunteers are a group of supporters of the Portland Thorns and Portland Timbers from across Montana.  While the group hosts watch parties for the Timbers and Thorns around the state, founder Kris Goss detailed for Helena Rotary the various community support projects that the Montana Volunteers have organized in the three years since the group's founding.  These soccer fans:
 
...in addition to other community support projects.  The Montana Volunteers are presently conducting their year end supply drive in support of Helena's Friendship Center.

Fourth Wednesday Service Project with Montana Supporting Soldiers

For our Fourth Wednesday service project, Helena Rotary invited Liann Myers of Montana Supporting Soldiers, an organization that sends letters and care packages to armed service members not only from Montana, but from across the country. We spent our meeting writing Christmas cards for soldiers, sailors and airmen serving overseas.

World Montana brings Iraqi Students to Helena Rotary
